Garbage and Recycling                                         

The Borough of Alburtis has a contract with J.P. Mascaro.  Garbage collection is every Friday, unless otherwise noted.  Recycling collection is every other Friday and is now mandatory in the Borough. 

Please remember some important do's and don'ts regarding your refuse:

• DO tie all of your bags properly so that your trash is not blowing around your neighborhood.
• DO make sure your trash can has a tightly fitted lid.  Please line your trash can with a plastic bag.
• DO remove the lids from your recycling materials and crush the cans and plastic.  This helps keep the recycling contained in your bin.
• DON'T place your garbage and recycling out at the curb prior to 5:00 p.m. the night before a scheduled pickup.
• DON'T place tires, hazardous waste, liquid paint or motor oil in your garbage.
• DON'T place yard waste in your garbage.  All yard waste should be taken to the drop off site located on W. Penn Avenue.
• DO tie your cardboard and newspapers and place them on top of your recycling container.
• DO remember - construction material must be bound and is limited to one bag or container per week.
