Revitalization
Here is the latest news about the Alburtis Business
Revitalization Program (ABRP) – and there is quite a bit going
on!
Thanks to Representative Doug Reichley, the ABRP was able to
secure a $5,000 grant from Pennsylvania. We will use this money
to purchase two welcome signs, a historical marker for Lockridge
Park and a clock in front of Borough Hall. In conjunction with
Lehigh County, Alburtis is also working to get new trees for the
Tot-Lot and Community Center. The funding for this program
comes straight from Pennsylvania, so no Borough funds will be
spent on this project. Our Façade Program was a success once
again and five properties are set to take advantage of this
program, by which state funding is invested in homes along Main
and Franklin Streets to renovate their facades.
We are also working on two fundraising initiatives – selling
crocks and a calendar with pictures of Alburtis on it. Come by
Borough Hall or First Star Bank if you are interested in making
a purchase.
That’s all for now! If you have any questions, suggestions or
concerns, or you just want to get involved in our program, don’t
hesitate to contact me (Mike Schlossberg, 484-809-1796 or MikeS@lehighvalleychamber.org).
