Permits and PA One Call System

If you plan on improving your property (fence, shed, deck, swimming pool, sign, ramp, major construction, sidewalk/curb, interior alterations or anything similar), you must obtain a zoning permit from the Borough Hall before work begins. The process takes approximately 2 weeks. When a building permit is obtained, you will be notified of the number of required inspections, if any. Inspections must be called in with 48-hour notice. The Zoning Officer has hours on Wednesdays from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Please call our office for more specific details and questions. If you are doing any digging on your property, please have whoever is doing the digging, i.e.: the contractor, sub-contractor or yourself, call Pennsylvania One Call System at 1-800-242-1776, so that underground facilities owners can be notified to mark any underground sewer, water, gas or electric lines. There is no cost to the property owner for the service. If you do not call and you damage any utility lines, you will be responsible for the entire cost of the repair of that particular line. Notice required is at least 3 working days, but not more than 10 working days prior to actual excavation. Don't forget to call - it's the law!
